We use polymer modified cement based compounds like Milestone, Texston, Synergy and Skimstone to transform ordinary surfaces into something extraordinary. A concrete slab can be recreated with a custom combination of these materials into a luxurious surface reminiscent of marble, tile, or glazed stone. A plain wall can appear to be sheathed in exotic rock. Because these are Portland Cement based compounds they can be used indoors or outdoors even in wet or harsh conditions.
The Hybridized Portland Cement we use enables us to level out an existing concrete surface hiding most blemishes, cracks, pits, and chips etc. and gives us a new palette with which to begin the decorative design. The top dressing compounds are available in a variety of beautiful subtle colors and are applied by hand to create unique and custom designs. In fact, these products use universal paint colorants from the Behr Expressions collection – the same colorants used to tint the latex paints you get at the paint store – so the color possibilities are endless and careful calibration allows accurate color duplication. Multiple layers of hand-trowelled translucent color allow for subtle variations that create the natural look of stone. The overlay process can be used on almost any dense hard surface from bricks to drywall. Finally, the surface is sealed with Kelly Moore Enviropoxy creating a rich patina and lasting durability.
